may today | a poem

may today bring

joys and understandings

may today bring

calm and closeness with our heart

may today be

fueled by meals and mendings

may today be

soft and tender, sweet— and tart

may today be

lived by us with caring

may today hold

lots of little lights and loves

may today bring

ease for what we're bearing

may today bring

feelings, felt, and thoughts like doves

may today be-

come a warm creation

may today come

to us, arms open and wide

may today flow

freely or fly in formation

may today be

listened to—she's on our side.

may today be

trusted with what matters

may today be

challenged in the ways we need

may today re-

lease in us her many weathers

and may we

know she is to sow a seed

may today bless

all of us with deep embracing

may today bring

all we need to love to live

may today sup-

port us in the storms we're facing

may today go

on to give, and give, and give.
